AMS Lecture: "The Return of the King: Taboo, Identity, and the Remaking of Late Roman Political Culture"

Andrew Johnston (Yale)
101 Swallow Hall

Prof. Andrew Johnston (Yale University) is the Director of the Gabii Project's Field School. His work focuses mainly on questions of memory, identity, cultural interaction, and the representation of selves and others, both at Rome and on the peripheries of the ancient Classical world.

"The Return of the King: Taboo, Identity, and the Remaking of Late Roman Political Culture"

Prof. Johnston has kindly agreed to lead a graduate seminar on the value of interdisciplinary research (between history and archaeology), taking new approaches to the “becoming Roman” question as case study.  It will take place on March 1 (Friday) in Swallow 008 from 12 to 2.

We hope to see you there!
