Professor Tarkow Receives Distinguished Service Award

At the 38th Annual Arts and Science Banquet on February 22, Prof. Ted Tarkow (on the left, joined by A&S dean Pat Okker) was given a Distinguished Service Award for his years of teaching, research, and service at Mizzou. Ted joined the MU faculty in 1970 and served as director of the Honors College (1977-1982) and as associate dean of the College of Arts and Science (1982-2018), where he played an integral role in such initiatives as the A&S Undergraduate Research Mentorship Program, the Missouri Scholars Academy, and the MU Freshman Interest Groups. He has also served as the president of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South and of the National Conference of Governor’s Schools. To see Dr. Tarkow’s acceptance speech, click here:
